2021 Accomplishments:

  1. Began planning process for a Parking Lot at the North Slope Trails

  2. Built a new North Slope technical trail, blue-rated, called Bones {additional length to the trail is planned}

One-Year Plan:

  1. Continue strategic plan, as a member-driven organization, to advertise to and manage corporate sponsorships (ONGOING)

  2. Continue partnership with the City of Olympia and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance in the development of Kaiser Woods Bike Park (ONGOING)

    • Volunteer work parties

    • Trail design and construction

    • Signage

    • Mapping

  3. Complete transformation of Sub Black Hills into a legal trail system managed by FOCF through its partnership and recreational lease with Manke Timber (ONGOING)

  4. Build a Parking Lot for the North Slope Trails

  5. Partner with the local high school MTB teams and other youth development groups (ONGOING)

  6. Continue expansion and maintenance of the North Slope Trail System, including a Climbing Trail and a new Black Diamond Technical Trail (ONGOING)

  7. Continue to build and maintain the trails we use in Capitol State Forest, including a new connector trail (ONGOING)

  8. Get an Asphalt Pump Track on to the City of Olympia Parks & Rec 6-Year Master Plan (ONGOING)

  9. Continue to build partnerships with other local cycling groups and other recreational user groups (ONGOING)

Five-Year Plan:

  1. Develop Master/Strategic Plan for building and maintaining new trails in Capitol Forest, specifically with DNR

  2. Build Thurston County’s first asphalt pump track

  3. Build a skills park at the BBQ area on Little Larch Mountain Trail

  4. Build shelters and tables at popular trailheads

  5. Create additional revenue sources for FOCF
