Support the Mission of FRIENDS OF CAPITOL FOREST as a New Member

2020 Accomplishments:

  1. Build the Fall Creek Event Shelter
  2. Built a new North Slope flow trail, blue-rated, called Living The Dream (LTD)
  3. Transitioned into a member-driven organization
  4. Developed trail signage at SBH trails along with a social media group to conduct public outreach communications, such as safety and closure notices

One-Year Plan:

  1. Begin strategic plan, as a member-driven organization, to advertise to and manage corporate sponsorships
  2. Continue partnership with the City of Olympia and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance in the development of Kaiser Woods Bike Park
    • Volunteer work parties
    • Trail design and construction
    • Signage
    • Mapping
  3. Partner with the local high school MTB teams and other youth development groups
  4. Continue expansion and maintenance of the North Slope Trail System
  5. Continue to build and maintain the trails we use in Capitol State Forest
  6. Continue to run the best sporting event in Capitol State Forest, the Capitol Forest Classic (pending COVID)
  7. Continue to build partnerships with other local cycling groups and other recreational user groups
  8. Get an Asphalt Pump Track on to the City of Olympia Parks & Rec 6-Year Master Plan (or Lacey and Tumwater)

Five-Year Plan:

  1. Build a Parking Lot for the North Slope Trails
  2. Build a skills park at the BBQ area on Little Larch Mountain Trail
  3. Build shelters and tables at popular trailheads
  4. Create additional revenue sources for FOCF
